2. The first witch is saying in that line is that Macbeth will neither sleep night or day, amongst her sisters
3. The word night in this line is that he'll never sleep at night.

1. Messenger- The king comes here to-night.
2. The messenger says that the king is coming to night and it's towards Lady Macbeth.
3. The word night is used to say that the king is coming later in the day.
3. (act 1 scene 5) Come, thick night, And pall thee in the dunnest smoke of hell, That my keen knife see not the wound it makes, Nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark, To cry 'Hold, hold!'
1. It's Lady Macbeth saying that she wants to be a man and fight
2. It means having the night come and having a heavy smoke.
ACT II-
(Act 2 scene 1) How goes the night, boy?
1. Banquo is talking to his son about the night
2. The word night is signifying that it is dark out
(Act 2 scene 1) All's well. I dreamt last night of the three weird sisters: To you they have show'd some truth.
1. Banquo talks about a dream he had about the 3 witches. They talked about Macbeth too.
2. The word night is used for when Banquo had his dream while sleeping.
(Act 2 scene 2) That which hath made them drunk hath made me bold; What hath quench'd them hath given me fire. Hark! Peace! It was the owl that shriek'd, the fatal bellman,Which gives the stern'st good-night. He is about it: The doors are open; and the surfeited grooms Do mock their charge with snores: I have drugg'd their possets,
That death and nature do contend about them, Whether they live or die.
1. Lady Macbeth is saying how she made the servants drunk and drugs, it hast given her fiya (fire).
2. Lady Macbeth uses personification with the owl saying a scary good- night.
ACT III-
( Act 3 scene I) To-night we hold a solemn supper sir, And I'll request your presence.
1. Macbeth is talking about a ceramonial banquet he is having to night
2. to-night is used to show that the banquet will be held after sundown.
( Act 3 scene 1) As far, my lord, as will fill up the time 'Twixt this and supper: go not my horse the better, I must become a borrower of the night For a dark hour or twain.
1. Banquo talks about if he'll be there by sundown, account if his horse goes fast engough
2. The word night is used in that he must get there by sundown.
(Act 3 scene 1) Let every man be master of his time Till seven at night: to make society The sweeter welcome, we will keep ourself Till supper-time alone: while then, God be with you!
1. Macbeth tells banquo that he must get there before sundown
2. Macbeth says people can do as they please until 7:00

1. It's about putting a toad that has oozed poison from it's pores into a pot
2. Night is two tell how long the toad laid under the cold stone.

1. Macbeth finds the witches and ask them in a mean way what their doing.
2. night is used to describe the witches doing stuff at night
(Act 4 scene 3)
1. Malcolm talks about how the day needs to end
2. The word night is used to say that it will never end till day.
Act V-
(Act 5 scene 1)
I have two nights watched with you but can perceive no truth in your report. When was it she last walked?
1. The doctor talks about how there hasn't been any evidence for 2 nights straight.
2. The word night is used to tell how long the doctor has been there for.
(Act 5 scene 1)
Since his majesty went into the field, I have seen her rise from her bed, throw her nightgown upon her, unlock her closet, take forth paper, fold it, write upon ’t, read it, afterwards seal it, and again return to bed; yet all this while in a most fast sleep.
1. The gentlewoman says she sees lady macbeth putting on her nightgown and getting out a piece of paper and write a letter.
2. Night is used to tell you that it's a nightgown.
(Act 5 scene 2)
Wash your hands. Put on your nightgown. Look not so pale.
1. Lady Macbeth talks in her sleep and rephrases the line in act 1.
